Im thinking about custom fitting some indicator led's inside a standard 696 breakers yard rear light cluster i have acquired has anyone else done this on here ?  is this a project thats worth doing in your opinions ?

not sure i understand the question, but i recently bought a clear alternatives rear light. Unless you are directly behind me you do not see the brake light or blinks. So i mounted additional LEDs inside the lens the aim out the side of the lens. Pretty easy mod if you can solder.
I will upload a few phone pics in a few minutes.
And yes it is worth it...more cagers can see my intentions now.....well i hope they are even paying attention.

sorry i needed to be a bit clearer i was thinking of modding a standard read light unit to incorporate some LED
indicators , thereby doing away with the rear indicators and stalks. I have seen aftermarket versions but have been offered a standard duc light unit and wondered does the whole light unit rolled into one idea work when in practice on the road ? Or is it better/safer to stick with the conventional setup ?  Also has anyone attempted to make a internal indicators built in unit themselves from a standard light unit ? Or is it easier to just buy the finished a ones i have seen on the likes of ebay ?

yes you can add LEDs to the stock tail light,(drilling to add wires) i just chose to add the Clearalternatives LED circuit board also that replaced the single bulb. You can certainly buy integrated taillights, but IMO they aren't as safe as the stock set-up unless you modify them to give more light off at more angles then directly behind you.
Sorry for no pics, i will try to get them tonight.

i think the bigger and wider your blinkers are the easier they will be to notice

sorry for the delay, stupid work gets in the way of important motorbikel stuff!

i added 4 LEDs to each side of the light, 2 blink, 2 running.

very simple mod, and i feel better about my visibility.

RB,  Nice mod.  Never seen that done before.  Seems you've done a few others cool mods too.  Is there a light where you remounted the license plate?  Did you chop those cans?  They look very clean.

Thanks
Cans are not chopped, but cored.
The light for the tag is actually a narrow beam LED mounted in the bottom of the tail light aiming straight down. Some of the tire actually gets illuminated. It is dim, but bright enough at night to see the tag, and totally stealth mounted. You can actually see the LED light in the last picture, however this photo was taken when i was still fitting everything, and i used an amber LED, but you get the idea.
