depends on what you are doing.

i asked this question and from what i hearf from peopel that owned 748 is that they are great track bikes and great bikes for canyons and such but horrible for everday use and such,

if you are only going to use this thing for nice weekends and such and maybe the ocassional spiritied ride then ive heard its great, if you use it for anything else like truly replacing the all around use of a monster then its not worth it according to peoplethat have owned them.  but hey this was all through emails.

I just bought a Hypermotard so I could have used the SBK for just having fun but the deal is not going through...  Either way, it has put a little SBK bug in my brain and I'm prob gonna eventually flip the CB 650 I am rebuilding to buy a 748 on a 916.  The best part is I get to keep my Monster!
