I want to cut off part of the stock plates to make it for rider only (remove the passenger pegs) but I'm not sure how it will work so I'd like to have an extra set.  If you look at the inside of the stock plate you will see the honeycomb design.  I plan on cutting just aft of the second honeycomb after the opening (where the two sections come together) then sandblast or beadblast to make the cut area match the original finish.  Yea, I know I could buy rearsets but I'm a cheap SOB plus I like the stock rider peg position.

hamsandwich did that very same thing to his 696.....
