I've been looking for a while now but can't seem to find black belt covers for my '01 M750. Nor can I find black clutch covers or stator covers. Should I paint, and for that matter is it possible to paint without it looking like s**t?

I picked up a can of black BBQ paint and sprayed the belt covers off my 620.  A couple of coats did it for me.

First read DP's painting tips. Then...

A rattle can job on the belt covers is super easy. I've done it a couple ways - one with primer for plastic, one just straight plastic formulated paint. I did the former, since I couldn't find a plastic formulated version of the satin black I wanted to use. Either way, plastic formulated paints work great on the belt covers, they don't get hot enough to warrant higher temp paints.

Just take your time and they should look sharp. A good cleaning before paint will help a bunch too.
