looks like a magnetic tank pad, designed to protect that area of the tank from scratches.
I actually have one somewhere, from when i had an M620. Never got around to putting it on.

i think they were available for all monster years that came with a metal tank.

cant remember the name of the company, but if you google magnetic tank pad, you should hit it.

it lists all except S2R, which really should be all metal tank monsters.

if you need sticky, my friend that races swears by the tech spec (she's fast too  )
sides and middle are sold separate.

not a huge fan of the mag-knight stuff. i find the magnet to have a really weak hold... had a tank protector on a gixxer 600 that would slide around, and it destroyed the paint.
