I guess I'm coming back to this now. I justified upgrading to the 1100.

I actually pay less per month on my 1100 loan than on my 696 loan.

I still haven't found out anything about the headlight modulator.  I'm going to change out my headlights to 2 - 4" lights (Not the top of my list right now - Motocreation BoomTubes on order, then levers then lights).

The power is much more on the 1100.  I still haven't changed over to a 14-Tooth front sprocket and there is a huge difference.

the wet to dry clutch kit is @1500 and should be the same one for the 848 from one of our sponsors http://www.store.commoto.com/ducati-slipper-clutch-conversion-p-4126.html

Ok cool, thanks for the response.  Now I have another question along the same lines. I like the slipper option that this one has, it seems this clutch is the same as what is on the 1098/1198 except that those bikes do not have a slipper built in, is that correct?  If that is correct are there any models thatdo have the dry, slipper clutch? If so (I know I have a lot of ifs here) what are the chances of possibly getting this part off of a junked bike? One that was totaled by insurance but wasn't exactly totaled. Let me know.

i'm confused. are you trying to convert to a dry non-slipper clutch?

if so, email the store with the dry conversion kit and ask them if they want to swap out a non-slipper for slipper... and give you a discount, cause the slipper is the big money thing on this kit.

or are you saying you want to build your own conversion kit off a totalled bike. in that case have no idea. i don't know what it totally takes to build this kit up. you'll have to compare part numbers, etc on the parts catalogs of your bike as compared to say a 1098 to see all the parts you'll need.

Sorry, I read that back and it was a little confusing. I want a dry slipper. I was curious if I could just get one off a totaled bike and essentially just plug and play on mine.... essentially....

but didn't you take a hit on the 696? Assuming you lost money trading it in...
