factory rearsets interchange

i feel lazy asking this, but i couldnt find it through searching. 

i would like to know if anyone has experience with the rearsets on the 900ss from 99+?  my dad has a 97 900ss and i got bored one day when he wasnt looking and i figured out that his front pegs will bolt on onto my 04 m800.  but what i was wondering is if the old ones, pre 99, will interchange with the newer ones from 99+.  i can never find the old ones, but the 99+ are all over ebay.

if you know that they interchange through the years on the ss, or if you happen to have a set of the 99+ rearsets on your monster, please teach me.

I'm pretty sure the 99+ SS has 75mm mounting centers - same as the 1098. I have never tried to mount them on a Monster though.
