Is this tank worth repairing?

I pretty seriously damaged this tank early in the summer and it's been sitting in my basement for a while now. I have replaced it on my bike for now, but I'm wondering if this kind of damage is repairable and if it's worth the cost.

It holds fuel and the engine actually ran no problem before I replaced it. Doesn't appear to be breached at all, just scraped down to the metal. I sprayed over it with some random clearcoat I had around just to stop it from rusting. FWIW it's from a 2000 M750, the carbed steel tank that fits the "new" style seat cutout, which apparently is fairly scarce.

What are my options for repairing it? And if I don't repair it fully, any reason I couldn't just paint/putty over the dent and use it as a trackday/spare?

I've been a lurker here for a while and have learned a lot just reading stuff.

An auto body guy can fix that no problem. I don't know how much it would cost or if it would be worth it though.

Anything can be repaired.

That tank is worth it. I've fixed way worse.
