I bought my '07 S2R1000 used. The previous owner was short and said he had the bike set up for him. The ride height rod was adjusted to the shortest position.  Can someone tell me the factory setting for rear ride height. Either of these two will be okay, how many threads exposed on the adjuster or the "H" dimension as shown in the owners manual. Oddly the owners manual has factory settings for forks and shock but not rear ride height as it just pictures the "H" dimension.
thanks

Maybe the seat height can be a good/easy starting point?

New from the dealer my bike was set at the lowest setting. Raise it up!

On a short ride over to a friend to assist in adjusting sag I scraped the QuatD box on an easy turn.  So we did the sag adjust and just because I didn't want to hit the exhaust again we raised ride height adjustment 4 of 5 max threads showing.  Afterwards on several rides I haven't touched the pipe.  Having the shock sag set certainly has an affect here in raising the chassis. I want to back it down a little and still not touch the pipe.  Knowing the factory setting is zero threads showing a good starting point.  You raised it from the lowest position, my reason for doing so was probably different than yours or others.  I have read that some riders bias the weight toward the front by raising the rear, some also raise the forks up into the top triple 4 or 5mm, with the goal being to accomplish quicker turning.  For those of you that have raised rear ride height what are your reasons do doing so?  I also assume that the factory setting for the forks is flush with the triple. thanks

My reason for raising the rear was for quicker handling but also better cornering clearance. Make sure to redo your sag setting after changing the rear ride height as it can affect the sag setting.
