All the Ducati's made the 1290SDR possible!

I had an interesting conversation with the folks at Dan Kyle Racing today. Specifically Alex. I was asking if they knew anyone in the business that would respring a Showa rear shock for the 848/1098/1198. Basically they didn't know if someone would do that. Kyle doesn't have springs for Showa shocks. They also said that the stock spring/shock combination would have to be put on the shock dyno just to get a base setting and then try to respring for a proper weight range but that the valving still wouldn't be good. Their belief is that it's just better to remove the stock Showa and but on the proper Ohlins.

In fact they are so confident in the Ohlins that Alex made the following offer.  If anyone over here buys an Ohlins rear shock from Dan Kyle they have two weeks after the shock is installed to try it out. If anyone is not super pleased with the shock they can return the shock for no charge, including free return shipping.

For the record Alex is paid hourly and receives no commission on sales and I don't get any special deals either. I'm just passing along what Alex told me.

No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Isn't that a WP shock?  I haven't heard any real complaints about them.
