So i have 2006 S2R 800 and it doesn't turn in as quick as i'd like it too. I know that i can adjust the rear ride height to make it turn in quicker. However i'd like to set it to the "stock setting" and then go from there. I looked through the manual and it says to measure from the ground to the very last piece of metal on the beer tray to get the "stock" height. However they don't give me a measurement for it  [bang].

I have searched all over and have read how to adjust it, where to adjust it, what to do, etc but would just like to know if anyone has the proper measurement so i can get a baseline.

Thanks so much.

I had inquired about this info for my S2R1000 and the best answer I can give you is that one responder said his new S2R came with the rear ride height set to the lowest position.
You don't stop riding motorcycles when you get old.  You get old when you stop riding motorcycles.

isn't the stock seat height like 31"?

assuming you have a stock seat, of course... that may get you in the ballpark.

did you buy this bike new or used?

Before playing with the ride height you need to check static and loaded sag.  If you can not achieve proper sag you do not have the correct spring.  If you need to increase preload to get the correct sag that may give you the increase in rear ride height you are looking for.  Unfortunately, I do not know the specs for your bike.

where do i measure seat height? seems arbitrary and i have seen a few diff measurements.

i am also going to set the sag for me but also want to make sure the ride height is adjusted to ducati factory and not where the dealer decided to put it.

bike is used and 100% stock.

The seat height is the same as (under the beer tray) rear frame part. 800mm
It's the lowest, flat part of the seat, where your private parts rests....

Some other stock numbers for you:

(from the work shop manual)

Ride height adjustable rod: measures 261mm from center of eye to center of eye.
Rider's footpeg 370mm (I assume center of peg?)
Passenger's footpeg 500mm
Stock rebound setting: 18 clicks from all the way in (way too many clicks for a heavy rider, IMO)

The "under tray frame part" and the "rod" measurements seems to be most accurate. One a little easier to find than the other.
