I've had the program for a while now, but I just haven't gotten around to starting it.  A buddy of mine who is staying with me for a while wants to get back in shape just as much as I do, so we started the program tonight.  My wife and his wife will be making all of the meals that follow the nutrition plan, and I'll be taking the recommended supplements as well.  Anyone else have any experience with this program?  I've read through parts of the "Get Fit" thread and there seemed to be a lot of people chiming in about the CrossFit program but only a couple about P90X.

Bear in mind that this will be in addition to the Army workouts that I do five days a week as well.

I just bought this online, and it should be here any day.  I'm thin, so I'm not worried about the diet part.  I just want to tone up.   Let me know how you like it.  I have a friend who has been doing it and he looks great.

I hope you're already in at least decent shape because if you're not then you're going to be in a whole lot of pain.  P90x was designed for people who have hit a plateau in their training so you might want to run and lift for a couple of weeks before you start it.  Also, the diet is very very hard to follow because you'll be hungry all the time.  It does work if you follow the diet and do it every day.

I did the yoga a few times and decided to swith cardio kickboxing or plyo for it every time I was supposed to do it.  Its boring and longer than all the other videos.

I am 3 weeks into it and it is one hell of a workout. I started with the hopes of being in better shape for this years cyclocross season.  I should actually say that I restarted.  My wife and I first went into it with the resistance bands and one chin up bar, but it only took a couple of minutes to realize that I would rather have dumbells and a separate bar.  So, we dropped a  butt load of cash for two sets of Powerblocks and another pull up station. Now we are back at it.  I am ready for the change of routine in the 4th week.

I got up to week 7 but it took me 9 weeks to get there. I have a weird schedule working at night and having a business during the day so I couldn`t follow the plan exactly but I can tell you that it does work. I felt a huge improvement. I stopped for a month or two with the wedding and all. I am going to start over this week and try to stay closer to the program.  I used to be in really good shape but the last few years got to me. It took me a good three weeks to get going. Wait until you have to do those push ups where you go forward and down and then back and up like your going under a bar. The first time I couldn`t even do one of them, now they are no problem. I use dumbbells and a cable pull down instead of a pull up bar because that is what I had I will get a pull up bar for this time around. You can only use so much weight on the cable bar with out lifting yourself off of the seat.

It seems everyone I talk to either has bought it or knows someone who does it but most people do not openly come out to admit it. They are basic exercises but I like having something to follow. Yes it is a little cheesy at times but bear with it.

Even thought the yoga is boring I sweat the most during that and am usually sore from it.

All 13 dvd`s plus books, meal plan, charts can be found on most torrent sites, just saying.  ;)

yeah, tony horton is a complete cheeseball... but he does kinda take your mind off the fact that you're about to die from over-exertion.  ;D

I just finished the second workout (plyometrics).  This morning I ran a couple of miles and did sprints for PT so my legs were already smoked.  Even if I don't get the results I'm looking for, this seems like a great program.  A word to the wise though... the wives went out and got the groceries for the first week of the diet program today and it cost around $400.  That being said, they are participating in the diet as well, so it probably wouldn't cost as much for one person.  The cooking prep time takes forever though if you use their recipe exactly as stated.
