Ok so I don't really like many of the exhaust systems available for the s2R 800, wondering if I purchased a different set of cans and had custom pipes made, is the only real issue making sure I get the ECU remapped or make sure I have a power commander or such installed to make sure it has the right mixture?

Thanks for the thoughts, direction

The most common advice for the (US, no O2sensor) S2R800 is:

Any slip ons will be ok. Maybe a small adjustment to your stock ECU.
Aftemarket, custom or DP midpipes won't change the above...

Open air box and filter will require DP ECU, stock ECU reflashed to DP specs or maybe a PC will be ok, but there are some limits to the US PC's and I don't know enough about them to give trustworthy advice.

Haven't you found anything you like?

I did pod filters and a custom exhaust on my 900. I used a Power Comander with this set up. I just had the bike dynoed and had custom maps made at that time. It cost $200 and I got about 4 hours on the dyno with a Tech. It works well.

I like the ZARDs but I really like what Two Bro's has done for the 696  and the 1100 would rather do that, but I pretty sure it won't match to the pipes so I'm just wondering.

You sure you've looked at every exhaust out there?  Zards are really nice.  Also Boom tubes (make sure to wear ear plugs w/ these though).  But, yeah either way if you get aftermarket exhaust you should get a power commander w/ a custom map.  First I would get the fuel/air adjusted by the dealer ($70 or so).  If you didn't like that then you can get a power commander w/ a custom map ($600 or so).
