how do you tell a mono from a bi?

i am trying to buy a subframe and i cant figure out which kind this is.

one is AL and one is Steel

in addition:

Mono has no seat latch, key/cable, or passenger footpeg mounts.

Mono subframes run 300-350, bipostos are in the 100-200 range.

that defintely helps. though i cant tell if its Al or Steel from the pic, the footpeg holes give it away.
