He drew some really cool stuff! The creator/writer of Conan the Barbarian grew up in a tiny little West Texas town called Cross Plains. I drive through it every time I visit my friend's ranch to goof off and dove hunt and every time I think of Conan and illustrations like Frazetta's. RIP...

And yes Robert E. Howard was Texas' single greatest contribution to humanity and culture EVER (just fact, not my opinion).  Frazetta's cover illustrations helped spark renewed interest in Conan through the 60's and 70's.
