I took off the horribly ugly stock cans today to get a feel for what my bike would look like with the H-comp exhaust by ryanracer. Rode up and down my road a few times making a LOT of noise :)))).

My question is, can I cause any sort of damage to my engine by riding around with no silencers at all, running the pipes?

Thanks,

Ric

Several people do, without problems. The may need to be some tuning. I personally am going to go with MotoGP syle exhaust. Small, but there. I know there is a back-pressure issue.

Just got back from a 40 minute ride with no cans, it was SWEET, I couldn't stop smiling haha. I will say this, EARPLUGS, my ears were ringing when I got off. This sold me, as long as the H-competition exhaust is slight more quiet and more refined I will definitely be getting it.

i did it for a few weeks on my 1100, looks cool with no exhaust.  the sound is downright obnoxious....at first i thought it was awesome, but after a while i missed the sexy sound of the exhaust being muffled and refined so i picked up some termis.

my friend that is a duc mechanic said it would be ok for short periods, but without tuning you could foul your plugs or burn a valve in the long term.  the sound def didnt outweigh the risks so on went the cans until i could afford the termis.

Thankfully I live in the woods and there is no one around to annoy but deer and squirrels, and the occasional bear.   [cheeky]

I really can't make my mind up about exhaust. I love the naked look of the H-competition underseat but also love the Arrow CF look. Help me decide.

I have never heard either in person. I would assume the tone from arrow would be deeper, more refined, and quieter. H-comp would be more raw and louder. Really wish I could hear both in person.
