Ok debate is now between the 650 and 1000.  I am looking at your 650 duster fully loaded I weight about 225 and was wondering will the 650 have enough zip for me to go riding in the hills when needed if I included a couple of side bags.

Personally, I'm extremely happy with the 650.  The weight difference and overall distribution is significant when you're off the pavement.  I've never had trouble keeping up on the Wee Strom, even loaded up.
