I'm looking to put a set of clip-ons onto my 97 M750. Right now it has the old stock coffin reservoirs. Am I going to need to change these to a newer style? If so what am I going to need to do this? I dont mind changing them out, I think they're rather ugly.

SHouldn't need anything - excepting the possibility of new hydraulic lines if you can't line up the stockers.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

The only thing you need to do is buy or make spacers because with clip-ons the space available to mount the controls is limited and they won't clear the clip-on bracket.

You can go cheap and crush up a sliver of aluminum can into a crescent shape and pinch it between the bar and the lever assembly (has worked fine for me for 15k miles) or you can be all fancy and...

...you can buy them

depends on the clipons, i have a set that have a smooth front and don't need the spacer. or slightly longer bars as well will work

I had Vortex clip-ons on my 620 and they didn't need any spacers.

I needed them with zero rise Woodcrafts, fyi.   Guess it all depends on the brand/style you choose.

I have LSL clip on with 1.5 inch riser.
they require the spacer.

I am currently selling the bike and the parts are taken off.
if you need I can sell the spacers to you,

Where do the spacers go? Maybe it's because I don't have the clip-ons yet, but I cant see what they do.

I used them on my 97 900 before I ran into other clearance issues and put the project on hold. But the spacers go in between the coffin/perch and the bar to allow them to clear the bit of the clip on the warps around the fork allowing you to mount them closer to the center line of the bike.

you're better off buying the spacers, not needing them and returning them rather than needing them and then finding out they're on backorder  [bang] like happened to me.
