I have a oil leak where the clutch slave is mounted ;D the generator cap.
I first thought it was a leak in the cylinder of the clutchslave.
When i used the clutch lever oil leaked out the little hole in the slave.
So i thought that a new slave would do the job.
But when i went for a short ride there was still running oil out ([bang])
So i bought the thing whitout purpose ( 90 euro )
Does anybody have an idea what could be the problem?

Help this torched soul !!!  ;D

There's the possibility that it is an oil leak, not a hydraulic fluid leak. The seal between the generator cover and main case on my bike developed a leak right by the clutch slave.

Clean the bike, spray with a powder type deodorant and go for a short ride. YOu'll see where the fresh fluid is coming from.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Hey yuu,  i am pretty sure it s brake fluid that s leaking.
The reservoir is getting empty, i also know where the fluid is coming from.
There is a little hole in the clutch slave, near by the hole where the clutch rod goes in.
Does this means the cilinder in the slave has broken again?

Did you replace the old one with another Ducati (OEM) one? Or with an after market part?

Either way - it seems a bit shocking to think a brand new part would be leaking. But if your fluid reservoir is slowly becoming empty, that's a sure sign of a leak.

Can you:
disconnect the slave from the engine case
clean it well
once dry, put something absorbent in the area of the suspected leak
Get a rubber/pr plastic jaw clamp like so

- or put some scrap wood aroudn the slave
then pump up the pressure w/ the lever?

If it is really leaking - you should be able spot the fluid seeping out, or discoloring your absorbent stuff (I like blue paper towels for this) where the leak is.

But! before all that. Did you:
- Use new crush washers when you installed the new slave?
- Torque both the banjo portion and the bleeder of the banjo-bleeder sufficiently?

If no - there is a possibility that the new one is leaking from around the fitting

Anyone else got thoughts on this one?

I believe i know what the problem is.
Probably a leak by the push rod, i let the motor run whitout the slave, but whit the rod still in. And the oil came out the hole of the push rod.
Already tryed new washers, but that didn t work, so i ordered a new rod. Let s pray that it helps!
Thanxx for the help!

I had to replace the clutch rod on my 888 because it had worn enough that it let oil get past the seal.  You can pull the rod out and easily tell if that's the problem.
