hi guys,
so i was just researching on ducati's website on past monster colors.  am i correct to say there were no s2r 800's that were white?

i was playing w/ the configurator and liked the white tank look but it seems if i wanted that, i would need to have it custom painted.  how would a properly painted bike affect resale value.  now i know i would most likely not be able to recoup the cost of the paint job but would it sell at the same price as a similar bike w/ stock paint?  i guess it's more about color preference and if there was a buyer out there who like the same color.  tia

Yeah, there were no stock S2R's that were white.

As far as the value, unless the custom paint was somewhat of an eyesore, I wouldn't expect it to drop the asking price of the bike.

Don't expect to be able to get more out of with custom paint though.

Yeah. If it's well done paint, I don't think it would lower the price, you might even get a touch more if it's something cool... But as with any mod, chances of recouping the cash outlay is about 0. Just how it is... people who post ads saying 'Invested $xxxx in this bike' are delusional, or really bad investors. One should never look at a bike or it's modifications as an investment - with the exception of real collectors items.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

thanks guys.  so it looks like i can start looking for the cleanest s2r then, making sure i get one w/ a black frame.

as for the money, i totally understand.  i've currently trying to sell a 1974 bmw 2002.  i'll be lucky to get 25% of the cost of the upgrades that were done to the car.
