The 02+ have immobilizers so that might be a problem or it might not be if it just means leaving some loose wires hanging around.

Couldn't I just cut the wires flush with the cover. I'm just worried when I get it the bolt holes won't line up.

I looked on ebay and I can't find a 750 ignition WITH a key.

Ignition will work just leave off the immobilizer 'halo' thingy.

Gas cap will bolt straight on.

If you're concerned about having 2 different keys to do the seat lock, then you'll have to remove the lock tumblers from your '99 seat latch and from the '03 and swap accordingly to make that work.

Well unfortunately I don't have a seat lock. The guy that owned the bike before me got a little over the top when doing the tail chop and chopped off the lock bracket that is on the frame.

Ok so I bought it and I'm not going to use the seat lock. I think the ignition cover will work if I cut the wire off, it has the same design and shape as the M750 one so I guess we will see when it shows up. Thanks for the advice everyone, you guys are always a life saver.

I say keep the old-school boxy lookin' lock cover.  It 'fits' your '99.  Leave the swoopy new style ones to the newer bikes,

ROCK THE BOX!

(I may be biased...  I really love the old-school Monsters ('93-'99) and I own a '99 M750 too)

I don't have the original lock cover. The owner before me had a after market ignition and it finally crapped out so I'm getting a new one.
