Connecting Battery Charger - Question

Hey total N00b question here:

I just purchased the Optimate 4 Charger/Tester.  It comes with both the crocodile clips and the pigtail connectors.  Hurriedly, I simply used the croc clips and connected them to the +/- screws on top of the two poles.  The battery is still fully connected and the charger is working normally.  I will probably go back tomorrow and properly install the pigtail connector but can I leave it to charge overnight like this?

It's no harm to the battery, but depending on the monster, you might cause problems w/ the hing on the tank if you've got a full tank of gas. Using a 2x4 to prop up the tank instead of the tank prop that comes on the bike helps alleviate this.
