couple of questions...
which idiot are you. the one on the bike or in front of the Lamborghini?

did you mod the  bike already? I notice two different sets of mirrors.

did you get the full exhaust when you bought it or did it come with udder only?

Idiot on the bike.  I threw the Lambo pic in because there were some really sick vehicles at the shop I bought the bike at.  The dog picture was unnecessary.
Yea, I already did a few things like take the passenger pegs off and put my CRG mirrors on.
The bike has the DP ECU and the Termi carbon cans, but no midpipe.  I'm trying to decide if I want to go the boomtubes route or get the midpipe.

I made the decision to go with the S2R instead of the S4RS mainly for financial reasons.  Regardless of what the banks and credit unions were willing to loan, I just didn't want to incur so much debt.
Baby steps, I guess...695, S2R then maybe finally SF one day.

Funny thing is I bought the bike, then had to garage it and fly out of town to California and Tennessee for a week and half so I can't even ride it! bang head

Midpipe and Termignoni CF cans.  Evil

That's going to happen FOR SURE.  I'm most tempted to go with the Termi setup and pick up some used midpipes when I find some.
Of course, right after I got the S2R, a S4RS went up for sale on craigslist in DC with a great price.  I should have assumed that was going to happen, but I really think the 2valve was the way to go.  I'm no Ducati pro yet, I'm still a noobie.

nice steed. nice mirrors.

I would be a happy guy with the s2r unless you are power hungry.

The 2 valves make doing your own valve service relatively easy.
i HEAR that having 4 valves jammed in really makes things cramped,
and difficulty goes up. That and you have to buy twice as many shims.

congrats! get rid of those rediculous signals and beer tray and then ride that thing!

(oh and my vote is termi just bc you probably cant get your money from the pipe to buy the tubes,
they dont look as good imo but sound nice. You have the shotguns or the mini pipe?)

I have the shotgun Termi's.
I do like the idea of having simpler services on the 2 valve bike.
Either way, I'm pumped to have this bike, and if in a year I want something else, it's no big deal because I didn't pay too much for this one and could recoup my cost pretty easily.
S4RS, still makes me wet my pants and feel giddy.
S2R, makes me tinkle a little, and I still feel giddy.

Welcome to the club. Forget about the buyer's remorse. You got one of the best bikes out there. The S2R1000 is more than enough bike for most people'e skill level. Have a blast with it.

Do you think you guys could offer up a short list of important mods for this bike?  I know my new S2R is pretty similar to my 695 concerning some of the mods, but honestly, I can feel the need for the steering damper is much crucial on the S2R.
Right now, I was thinking tailchop, mid-pipes and steering damper.

must do for cosmetics:
beer tray delete, nicer looking turn signals
i like the motodynamics integrated tail because it has flashing brake warning
and integrated, sequential signals. they look awesome. For front signals i like rizoma myself

Must do Feel mods:
for me on any bike i gotta:
1- levers that dont suck. I like ASV, but its personal preference
2- Seat!   corbin and sargent rock, but DP gel seat is great bang for buck
3- steering dampener. sucks that these are so expensive but after you live with
one its hard to live without. i have a really crappy unit off a gixxer but it makes all the difference

after that its just icing on the cake with that bike (id start with a sweet minimalist clutch cover myself)
