Anyone know this city/town? live near by,  I've applied for a posting with the bank there, it is a lateral move but gets me out of the CDN/Europe side of things that has been sucking so bad.  Just wondering what the city and general area is like, economy, night life, riding, any insight would be great.  I'm just trying to do my homework before any interviews so I'm not wasting my or the recruiters time.

Cheers

Night life? In Rocky Mount?  :-\

Its a small city, your closest big city would be Raleigh, about 45 minutes to an hour away. Raleigh's got some great stuff, a hockey team, college sports, big city stuff. But Rocky Mount is just a small NC city near the coast.

Have you posted in the MROC section yet? Maybe hit up Rameses or Jobu or the other guys that live out near Raleigh.

Good luck!

Haven't posted anywhere but no moto content .... like I said put the application in just to see if they bite.  They haven't filled the position in 3 months so I figure any internal applicant will get at least the ok we have to interview you interview.  As I started to look to buy a house up here if I want to move now is a good time ... besides winter is coming and I can't drive the bike for much more than 60 days it will be too cold I figure I should get at least another 30-45 days more if I move down that way!

If I get the interview I'll post on MROC, if I get an offer I'll bug specific people!

Thanks

As far as the weather and riding goes, you can pretty much ride year round here.  Obviously there'll be times when it's too cold to ride during the winter, but there's rarely anything longer than a 1 week stretch when it doesn't warm up enough to go for a ride.

For nightlife, etc, Jess pretty much nailed that part.  Rocky Mount's a quiet little rural NC town.  Not much goes on there worth writing home about.  But Raleigh's not too far away from it.  So if you don't mind making that trip, there's plenty to do.
