Older style has two bolts that are spaced relatively close together, and bolt directly to the fork bottom (but you knew that, since that's what you have  Tongue)

Newer style has a separate clamp that attaches to the fork and the bolts are relatively far apart and the top one's a bit lower, I think.

The good news: You should be able to make an adapter.

Pics to follow (this info is based off a pre '00 750 and an '01 900)

If you want to do a SBK fender, you can get an 888 style fender

Sorry for the delay (camping this weekend)

I'll take a snapshot when I'm down in the garage tonight.

No worries, winter almost here (and the real bike season starts....)

Btw, did I send any Ignitech maps to you?

I don't remember anything about any ignitech maps... Then again, I'm senile Smiley

Newer Style fender mount (with adapter to mount older style fender):

Older style fender mount:

No reason the same kind of adapter couldn't be used to mount a newer style fender to an older style fork.

Hell, a simple strip of aluminum with bolt holes in it at the old and 'new' locations would probably do the trick.

An older SS fender works too with a couple of shims
