Hello Tech Team,

I have an issue with the brake light flash is not working. The light comes on but no front are rear brake light flash when press. I have a 2002 Ducati Monster 620 with a Mod brake light I ordered from ebay which worked fine after installed. I dropped the bike maybe a month ago I order new parts such as handlebar and clutch/brake levers. I could of swear the brake light was working after the accident but didn't really remember. I took the bike to a mechanic to have the handlebar and clutch/brake lever put on. When I picked up the bike my mechanic asked me did I know the brake light don't work. I was puzzled. I had to order another left switch on ebay for my turn signal because this also  would not work and it's not a relay issue the mechanic said. So, once I get the turn signal switch I was going back to have these issues fixed. I just wanted to know what may have cause brake lights to stop working.

Thanks...

It may just need a new bulb. I might be wrong, but I think the bulb has two filaments one for the brake and one for the running light.

I was thinking the same thing but there should be a way of testing the high flash. I'll check it out tomorrow. The other issue is that it's the LED TailLights Brake Tail Lights with Integrated Turn Signals Indicators

Well then its probably not the bulb, because you don't have one.  [laugh] Sorry, I'm sure someone will chime in with more knowledge than me.

I had a very similar problem, the running light would not work, but the brake light did. I was also running LEDs so i knew it wasn't a blown bulb. I traced the wires along the frame and found one of the wires had been cut by the rear suspension arm. I would suggest tracing the wires and using a volt meter at each junction to find where you are getting a power loss.

I'm guessing you have no brake light? Does it light up with the rear brake but not the front brake? It's the      micro switch under the right handlebar lever. They require adjustment time to time as they loosen and/or get dirty & sticky. First spray the switch with some contact cleaner and "flip" the lever several times to see if it is just stuck.  If you remove the switch don't lose those tiny screws & nuts and be careful of the small "spacer" falling out of the lever and rolling someplace where you'll never find it!

If the brake light is activated by either switch it is a switch problem.  If neither switch activates the light, check for voltage at the tail light, which will be the green/red wire when the lever(s) are depressed.  Voltage in, no light?  Bad light.

Thx DucNaked...lol I should of guess that.  [roll]

The rear and front brake don't work. Only thing working is the brake led light. I'm going to try to trace both wires in the morning. I did have new levers put on but the rear not working also so that may not been the cause.

Hmmmm Strange..... Hopefully a wire are something small is the issue.

Thanks Guys.
