vibration damper

I've removed the rear wheel, and in cleaning it, I noticed that the vibration dampers are a little loose. Very little, if any, radial movement, but they aren't rock solid tight.

I've looked in my manuals (both Ducati and Haynes), and there isn't much mention of how much compliance is acceptable.

Do they need to be solid - zero movement? I get the sense that the rubber component is solid, and the compliance is between the pins and insides of the dampers. I'm assuming that there are metal bushings in the ID of the rubber damper bushings.

Any input?

P.S. I removed the left switch assembly and attacked the sticky turn indicator switch and the inoperative horn switch. Quick and easy, took about 20 min total (R&R and repair). Turn indicator works nicely. As does the horn switch. Oh, the horn still doesn't honk. lol

Check to make sure that the sleeve on the id of the rubber bushing is in place.

Pretty common for that part to exit through the wheel hub.
