I am looking to put up a "floating" piece of stainless steel behind the cooktop as a splash.

We have tile.  The idea is to have a piece that's about 30-36" wide and about 18-20" tall that attaches to the wall OVER the tile.  I can set anchor thru the tile.

THe piece would have folded over ends and holes for the sheet to hang off the wall.  I want to keep it removable so it can be cleaned thoroughly.

Who can do this?  Any suggestions.  Really prefer stainless but it could be sheet metal if it's thick enough.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Something just heavy enough not to dent, probably 18 or even 20.  It's not structural and doesn't need to be heavy.

I called a few places but it was like talking to Pappy from Popeye the Sailor.  One guy said he'd do it but wanted $600.  make the beast with two backs that.  It's a scrap sized piece with 4 holes drilled and two bends in a brake.

I found a great place in Kentucky that will cut and ship various gauges of sheet ss for very cheap.  Will dig up the source.

We used 18 gauge for backsplash and it looked amazing.  Adhered with liquid nails.

If memory serves correctly, this is the company I used for 18 guage SS.  $3.17 UPS ground shipping to my zip code for a 2x4' sheet!  Their customer service was great!

Now there's one decent reason to have a crack smoking carpenter around...
