I live in central US. How long should I expect to wait for shipping from Germany (Desmoworld)?

Depends on the shipper/handler....could be a week, could be a month.

The opposite direction rarely takes more than two weeks by USPS [coffee]
... half of which is local custom clearance work.

Glad you said...'rarely'.  [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

In those rare cases it's usually a drunk and/or unreliable manufacturer, maybe typing Nowhere instead of Norway [bang]

So I guess I'm alittle impatient. An E-mail from Chris says that they were ready to ship on the 3rd. So it's only been 3 weeks. It's hard to wait for cool stuff.

I just got some parts for my Honda from England.  Took three weeks but they shipped it out the next day I ordered it.  I'm sure it gets tied up with customs and logistics.

My recent experience (last week) with Desmoworld went something like this:

Nurnburg to Frankfurt - eine tag
Frankfurt to Mississauga - eine tag
Mississauga to Calgary - eine tag
local post office to me - two days

Was a small box of their frame plugs, seat cowl bolts and signal cables.  Very nice stuff.  was waiting to get bike back so I could put them on take pictures and post my thanks at that time but since you asked, I'll take this opportunity to say "Vielen Danke Chris und Tina!"

Very fast shipping.  Did they give you a Deutsche Post tracking number?  If so you should be able to use it in the USPS tracking tool to get some idea where it is.

No tracking # yet, I have not asked for it though. I did ask when to expect it and did not get a response. I know they are busy, so I will do my best to be patient
