My monster seems to run a bit hot

My 02 620 is running at 240-250F in the city (where it's usually about 70F). Is that ok? I'm pretty sure it's going to be over 300 during the hot summer, maybe more when stopped at lights. What can I do to cool it more?

Mine ran at 265 pretty consistently and was fine. Crept into the 280 while stuck in a good bit of traffic on a hot ass summer day. So I don't necessarily think yours will get as hot as you think.
But, here's some questions for you - have you done anything to alter the Fuel Air mix? If you've opened up the intake in some way, without adding more fuel, your bike is probably lean. Lean engines will run hotter, sometimes hot enough to cause damage.
IF you haven't done anything to the intake... it might still be lean. But really, your's is running cooler than mine ever did, so I doubt it's lean currently.
IF you're really worried about the heat - there's a (relativly) plug n play oil cooler kit available. Has the lines, mount and cooler

thanks, I'll see how summer goes and then look into the cooler if I need it.
my friend has a newer monster, he says it never gets over 230F, so I started to worry

could be the type of oil you use as well. I think GeorgeCLS had commented that full syn group 4/5 run cooler. My bike runs warmer since my last change, but that could also be due to the 14t I put on slightly before that.
could try running higher gears too if you're overly concerned.

Andy
