Installing term slip ons: have to oil filter?

Dunno about this, but do you have to put on oil onto the air filter that comes with the term kit like k&n filters? Or is it Pre oiled?

dont have the kit, but you can usually tell if its pre oiled or not. The packaging will be slimy. The K&N filters i have bought were not pre oiled.

Just to note, the downfall in those types of filters is that most people do not regularly oil them. THe Oil is what makes it better than a paper filter. If its dry, you might as well have chicken wire for a filter.
