I removed mine for the first time for the past month to get the complete naked look, and I have decided that I like the front fairing ON.

To me the monsters look more evil [evil] with them on.

I have a S2r Dark, so my monster didnt come with a fairing.  I bought a used one from this forum and I like the look with it on.

fun comparison pictures:

rockin' the super old school 98-99 M900 fairing (in carbon, o' course)

Above Picture is from January-ish, early in the rebuild progress

(I also happened to score, after much searching, a really trick Monster S4 Cup front fairing, which is essentially the same thing - uses same windscreen part, and same mounts, but has no headlight hole)

And then, there's the "without" version of the Monster in my garage too:

I am always off.

I own 3 monsters and find the fairing cause buffeting and handling problems so i remove them ..also the bike looks better IMHO

Ok... It's off. I like it.

Do I have to worry about the wiring underneath the instrument cluster being exposed to rain? Also, how easy is it to drop the cluster a couple of inches so it's closer to the headlight?

I like that it continues the stripe motif on my s2r.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production.

if you ever ditch it, get your headlight bucket painted that way.

This probably makes NO sense whatsoever but I rode the bike sans fairing today and it honestly felt like it handled better. I mean a ton better. Dont know if it was the sight line, less bulky front end or what, but I can't believe how different it felt. I know, I know... Crazy.

Oh, and the helmet buffeting? Non-existent w/o the fairing. I think it's off the bike for good now.
