This combined with the G2 should provide the best of both worlds.

That`s the key IMHO.
Smooth operation at small throttle openings w G2 & 75% twist at WOT from Electraeon.
Noone seems to do a combination of both yet.

just got an email from G2
-------------------------
from me:

i am interested in your throttle tamer since i am looking at Rizoma sportline grips and heard their throttle is crap. But i also read your tamer takes  large wrist turn to get wide open. THEN i noticed the coming soon under "faster response" for sport bikes. when will this be available?

other people on the ducati monster forum have mentioned you dont list ducatis in your options? will you be soon?
many people are going to electraeon fast throttle instead of you guys, just saying...

btw i ride a monster 696

thanks

Jim

response:

Hi Jim,

The Monster has a unique 1 cable throttle housing with no extra room to go bigger, which is required to make a quick turn throttle.  If people are discussing our throttle for the Monster, they can only be referring to our Tamer throttle, which is designed to smooth out the snatchy EFI characteristics of the Ducati.  The Electraeon unit does not fit the throttle tube, but replaces the stock pulley on the throttle body.  If you want quicker response, this is probably a great option.

Thanks!

The sportlines or any other rizoma grip aren't compatable with throttle tamer. Because of the design of their grip you have to use their shitty throttle cam.

I think people are confusing the throttle body cam with the throttle grip cam.

As a Rizoma sportline user I can definitely attest to the absolute SHIT throttle grip cam. When I first received the grips and installed the appropriate cam it actually contacted the inside of the housing causing my throttle to stick. I had to use a file to grind down the face of the cam to solve this.

However I absolutely love the look and feel of the sportline over standard rubber grips. IMHO totally worth it.

Installed the electraeon throttle body cam a few weeks ago and is is absolutely a required mod to any bike. Before install I would have to rotate my wrist and over grip the throttle in order to get full range of motion for WOT. After install it's about 3/4 of rotation and I can hold at relaxed wrist position and rotate to WOT in one motion.

If you don't want to use the G2 grips your other option is the electraeon.

Okay I'm confused.  Some of the definitions here elude me.  My Duc took 1/4 turn from idle to WOT before & after the the G2.  I consider that the norm.  The only difference is the G2 is elliptical and therefore a little slower in the beginning and a little more aggressive at the end.  It rolls on smoothly of the line and then becomes an aggressive response.  Best of both worlds IMHO and a worthwhile mod.  There should be no reason to have to grab an extra handful to get to WOT.

When I was stock, I had to. You are probably grabbing your throttle above the neutral position. Neutral is flat wrist, I can go from neutral to WOT now that I have the electraeon installed.

The electraeon reduced the rotation needed for WOT, not sure what the G2 does, don't have it.

All the G2 does is change the throttle curve from a linear progression to an exponential one.  WOT is still at the same place, but 1/2 throttle might be a 3/4 turn with the G2.  This leads to the feeling that you have to turn your wrist more when you want a lot of throttle.

What the G2 does well is allow easy on/off throttle movements.  If you're getting on the throttle mid-turn after a late brake, you are more likely to ease into the gas with the G2.

The G2 is a replacement for the throttle cam inside the right hand grip.  The Electraeon is a replacement for the throttle body cam down under the tank (the other end of your throttle cable).  Where the G2 makes your throttle curve exponential, the Electraeon shortens the curve.  With the Electraeon, you reach WOT in ~3/4 of the turn.

Soooo, some people figure the best of both worlds is to just combine the two.  G2 at the grips, Electraeon at the throttle bodies.
