Bandits are cool.  I rode a 1250 around for a month (and put 9k miles on it).  Extremely functional and reliable.  A bit boring though and I find the 4cyl, as good as it is doesn't stir my soul like a 90 degree twin.  Have fun with it and odds are you won't be able to stay away from the twins for long :)
