Hey guys, I'm a long time reader that hardly ever posts!  over the years i've gotten literally TONS of great info from here and from the old board...   I've tried searching every combination of words i can think of and haven't had any luck with finding info on my current problem. I even called Monsterparts, and Pro italia (have done business with both in the past) and asked them my question.  So, after all of them failing me, i decided to turn to you guys!  here goes :

I just purchased a set of woodcraft tire warmers new, they just came in today and of course i already have the bike on front and rear stands to try out my new toy!  My problem is that there isn't really enough clearance between my front tire and my front mudguard for the tire warmer to fit through it.  It just drags ALOT! I was able to get it on eventually, after alot of careful manipulation, but it does not go on like i've seen everyone else at track days put theirs on (it always looks so easy for them).  Its going to take alot of effort each time i come in/go out for a session at the track. I'm concerned about the heat from the warmers sooo close (literally touching the CF piece), and i'm concerned about having to really push hard to get the tire to rotate once i start feeding the warmers onto the tire.

So I have three main questions!
1.  Has anyone else had this problem and found an easy solution? (i dont want to run without a mudguard on the track so thats not an option for me)

2.  Pro italia initially told me that the heat from the tire warmer wouldnt' be enough to hurt that CF piece at all.... then after he talked to his mgr he came back on the line and changed his story and said his mgr had heard of some people discoloring the CF piece like this.  what do u guys think???

3.  I can't raise the mudguard any further, the 2 black plastic brackets (per side) that wrap around the bottom of the fork to hold the guard on, they are as high as they can be, any further and they wont be on the bottom thick part of the forks, they will be on the narrower Ti coated part of the fork....  So, are there any brackets available that i can purchase to easily raise my front mudgard up alittle to increase clearance for the warmers?

Surely someone on here has had this problem in the past when running their bikes on the track!  Help me out here if ya have any info!  Tks!

oh, and in the pics it looks like the warmer isnt touching the fender, but it is up inside, if you were looking at the tire/wheel from the right side of the bike it would be dragging from 10 o'clock to 1 o'clock.

Maybe I should have posted this thread in the Racing and Trackdays forum????

does the front stand lift the axle or the steering head?  maybe if the suspension
was allowed to extend there would be room.

The stand lifts from the bottom of the forks, so the weight of the bike is still on the suspension.  however, that wouldn't make any difference in my situation, because the problem i am having is that there is not enough room between the front fender and the tire, that distance does not change when the suspension is loaded or unloaded since the fender is mounted to the bottom of the forks as well.

I've been looking closer at the problem, and i think a majority of my problem is the shape of the fender.  if you look at it from above, there are two support pieces of CF (one on each side) that go back to support the back of the fender, they dip in very close to the tire.  I think that this is whats really holding me up.... although, the fender is really tight to the tire around the whole circumference of the tire.

i'm wondering if a differently shaped fender would solve my problem??

anyone know which fenders will deffinately fit (using same factory brackets) on this bike? (05 S4R)

Thanks

You're right of course.  Apologies ... I wasn't thinking.
