A friend of mine is setting up an auction for charity in Jersey and she wants to auction a day rental of a Duc. It can pretty much be any Ducati. She has not been successful so far. I was wondering if anyone here knew anyone that could help out.

dont know anyone personally, but i got my bike at http://www.jacktrebourmotorcycles.com/...

they always seemed pretty cool... but i'm not sure if it's possible to have a dealer "rent" a bike... even if it's a demo unit, that's a lot of liability to have.

she might have a lot more success with these guys:

i've never used them or heard anything about them except for some craigslist postings i've seen... but since they deal in rentals already, it'll probably be a lot easier to talk them into giving her a day.

I have only ever dealt with the folks at jack Trebour myself.  I give them a big  [thumbsup].

When I lived in NYC, I used to go to Jack Trebour as well.  Country Joe is a great wrench and Tyler is the easy going parts guy who will actually call you back.   Nothing but high marks for them.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

if the ducati doesn't work out, i know a few people who have won a free rental of harley davidsons in nj.  so maybe that can be a backup plan?  or is she targeting the ducati crowd specifically?

I think she went that route and decided against it.

Try Cross Country in Metuchen, NJ (near Edison/new Brusnwick)

Ask for Maire: she often came south to ride with the "DML" (now Devalmostro) group in SE Penna.

South (of US 1) Jersey pickings are slim -- biggest name dealership in the 'area' is Ferracci in Willow Grove, PA, although Eurosports (www.eurosports.net) in Coopersburg PA are very active in regional events...
