Change Color of DSS: Paint or Powder Coat?

I'd like to change the color of the swingarm on my m620d to something closer to black. My first problem is that I have some shorty pipes that blow a little on the swingarm. The stock color shows some discoloration. I haven't tried really hard to clean it off (any suggestions?), but would like something that would show less and I think black would look good with the dark scheme. Is the stuff coming out of the pipe hot enough to burn the dss?

My second problem is that I hate waiting for stuff to come back from the pros, so if I could, I'd like to paint it myself. That way I could possibly only have the bike down for a day.

So the question is - paint or pc?

Thanks for any help,

-Ferg

Unless you're going to use activated paint I'd go with powder. Activated urethane should hold up where rattle can might not.

Thanks DP. I'll go with powder, since my only DIY option is rattle can.

If you're going to go with powder, you might as well do some other stuff too. its cheaper that way.

Powder is better than rattle can.

At least solvents won't wash it off. ;D
