Wait...  Didn't you buy a Japanese bike because you wanted something more reliable for commuting and longer trips?   Wink

It occurred to me that this is how SacDuc has been feeling while putting Putana together, falling, then putting her back together again.  You just wanna get out there and ride the damned thing!

From what advice I have received, one or more of the float valves is clogged with crud.  Since the bike is over ten years old and only 7400 miles, it sat for long periods of time with little fuel flow so there is carp in the tank that got sloshed around when I took the tank off and on several times.  I'm going to pull the carbs, clean them, and install a jet kit while I'm inside.  Then install an inline fuel filter. waytogo

You might want to take the carp out of the tank, too, while you're at it...  Grin

Need a hand? I could prolly get there by 4:30ish today.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

Anyone up for lunch at Newcombs this Wednesday(4/6/11) afternoon?

I'll be at the Shell on Sunland and Oro Vista around noon.

I haven't been out to ACH for some time because I thought most of it was still closed.  Also, I though Newcombs had closed as well.

Are they both open?

If so, anyone up for a run up there this Saturday (16 April)?

Both have been open for some time.  Just to clarify the "front side" of the 2 (up from La Canada Flintridge) is still closed.  You need to go up Big Tujunga Canyon Rd via Sunland and either take Upper Big Tujunga across to the 2 or Angeles Forest Hwy also to the 2.  Once on the 2 you can't miss NCR.

I went up a couple of weeks ago and the road was very dirty, lots of sand and water run off from the melting snow.  I saw a picture this weekend of Darren the bartender at NCR shoveling black ice:

I heard two people hit the deck because of it.  Be carefull up there.

Thanks for the tip.

I think I'll wait a spell before heading up.

Maybe I'll head up San Gabriel Canyon Road instead.

Went up to Newcomb's today, the roads were almost perfect!! Couple small rocks but nothing to bad. Seemed like all the gravel was cleared off as well.

Supposed to be in the 80's this weekend!!

Anyone planning on heading up either Saturday or Sunday?
