taking caution to not treat my Monster like a car, I wanted to know if there were any important differences before I melted a piston or something.  Looking at spark plugs, fuel-system cleaner and other basics for getting the winter out of the engine, is there anything specific that car products will actually do damage?  I know the oil type and filter are specific to Ducati, but anything else?

Basics: 2002 750 Dark i.e. ~7500 miles

Much appreciated

I would avoid additives unless you have a specific problem.

If you used a storage additive in the fuel you should be OK.

In addition to oil and filter you want to be sure your belts aren't old. Your plugs are probably fine.
