I've an '05 1000 and the low fuel light doesn't work. Doesn't bother me too much most of the time. I just make sure to fill up at about 120 miles, but this last week i was doing alot of running around and forgot to fill up on the way home. Ran out  [bang].
The bulb is good. The light comes on when you turn the key but I'm not getting any power to the connector under the tank. All the wiring looks to be in good shape. I don't see any damage. Is there something I'm missing? Is this a common problem?
Also, is there supposed to be a vaccum line going to the fuel pressure regulator? I don't see any loose lines or bare vaccum ports except on the regulator.
Any help will be greatly appreciated [thumbsup]

Yes...fuel senders are a common problem and expensive.

No...that nipple does not have a line to it. It is vented to atmosphere.
