Has anyone pulled apart a 1098 headlight?

im looking at the possibility of breaking down a 1098 headlight and fitting the HID units into a twin can light setup on my monster. question is if someone has had a 1098 headlight in there hands and knows if the hid units could be removed as a sealed unit from the light housing? sealed from bulb to lens. and if the unit would happen to be a convenient round shape or not.

any help much appreciated.
