The owners manual covers the tank panels, but does anyone have the torque values for the windscreen fairing, front fender, and tail cowl?

Hand tight with a touch of medium loc tite.

I think you're over thinking things here. They are just body panels, not structural.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

I do tend to over think things, but if I have to tighten a bolt, why not tighten it to spec?  Assuming I can find the spec, that is.  ;)

If you need a number...

Torquing small fasteners is typically a recipe for disaster in my experience.

Always worked for me.

There may not be one, or it's just 'hand tight'

I'm all for going to spec - I searched for a while to get my 2000 900ie tech manual with all the particulars and use it often. But, at certain points there's really no value in getting it to the Nm for something like a body panel or the bolt for your bar end, you're just causing yourself hassles.

Well, I did it by hand.  The only bolts that had thread locker from the factory were for the front fender; They had a MASSIVE amount of red thread locker on them!  I just used some blue Loctite when I re-fastened them.  The rest I left as they were and tightened them up until they felt snug.  I had planned to use a torque screwdriver for the tank panel bolts, but they were clearly not consistently tightened at the factory, so I didn't bother.

Tight is tight and too tight is broken :P
