This has been happening for a while with no bad slipping, but either way.
When starting in 1st cold or warm (more prevelant when warm) at initial bite of the clutch it has a squeek or slight slip I can feel in when I release the clutch.  I have noticed the clutch fluid in reservoir gets filthy withing 100 miles which is a bit unusual.  Once the clutch is engaged it pulls hard in every gear at any rpm.

Any ideas?  is the stock slave going out, slipping clutch or nothing to worry about?

Mods/miles: FBF pressure plate, newer springs and single piece clutch spring retainer, Area 51 clutch cover.  Stock basket, hub and clutch pack with 6800 miles.

Clutch fluid turning black quickly, though alarming, is common and not a problem.  Your plates are probably glazed.  You can try removing the plates and, if not worn, sand, shuffle and reinstall.  The convex steel should go in the same position though.

Take the clutch apart and take a scotch brite wheel to the steel plates.  http://www.toolfetch.com/Category/Blades/Abrasive_Blades/Grinding_Wheels/3M7481.htm

You should be able to get small quantities of something similar from autozone/pepboys.

If you can get your hands on a beveled steel plate, add it in the stack in the opposite direction from the factory installed one...doesn't really matter where.

The groan will go away without the additional plate...it should stay away with it.
