Highway revs w/ 5spd and 14t?

I'm thinking about changing out my front sprocket to the much-acclaimed 14t, but I'm wondering how well it would turn out on my old-school 5spd 750...  I feel like it already revs out a bit more than I'd like at ~80mph - how many more revs would a 14t add?

I ride mostly on the highway and with  15:41 was always looking for another gear when in top

Went to 15:39 and this transformed the whole highway riding experience, lowered the RPM by about 500, put the motor into a real sweet spot at 120 kph ( speedo on mine reads about 10% high )

Downside is need to slip the clutch in 1st a leetle bit more, not a worry tho for me

Looks like I'd gain ~750rpm @80mph in top gear and end up revving at about 6k...  Seems high to me - but than again, most of my experience is in cars, where 6k at cruising speed is ridiculous.  Still, with a "redline" of 8200, 6k seems to be pushing it for extended periods of travel, no?  Fortunately, I do very little highway riding.

I've wondered this as well. My M696 with a 14T runs at 6k around 75-80 mph, if I recall.

6k is when that extra push comes on with the 696 so you end  up consuming a bit more fuel
i ran the 14t for a while, but as my speeds are now in the 85-100 cruising range i went back to the 15t to save some revs
