1000 DS will not turn over.

 I was hoping to never need to post a help me question but there are some real smart gies here that may save me a bunchof trouble,, here goes.
  The bike is a 03 1000DS with no history of any electrical problems. Ive had it for years .  This winter a frend with many desmo valve adjustements offered to help me (or show me) how the valvs are done .
This went well , slow work but  well done.
  Now it will not start.

So am I missing a reset button or something ?

Turn key to on  Gauges sweep   fuel pump goes on
Kill switch to on
Kick stand up
Gear is in netural
Push button..........  Nothing , no click from solonoid , no starter

Just thought Id put this out there before doing the volt meter thing.

I will add that my eyes are not so good for wiring diagrams.

There is a small plug on the solenoid in between the 2 cables.

Remove it and re-connect it.

I've had this happen on my 05 S2R 800 a couple of times.  Most I ever had to do was shut it off, remove the key, insert key, and turn it back on. 

Question:  Once you've inserted your key and the gauges finish doing their thing, does your immobilizer light still flash?

There is a small plug on the solenoid in between the 2 cables.

if this doesn't work.
on the carb'd monster you could take a screwdriver and touch the 2 poles on the solenoid to see if you can get the bike to crank over.

some of the ss had issues with the earth lead mounting at the engine being loose.  worth a look.

 Thanks for all the ideas, I hope to work on it this weekend but it looks like theres another bike on the table in front of mine.
  When we figure it out I will post the reason it wont start.

I got it .   

What happened was we forgot to put the ground wire on the ECU.
Its funny because there is a wire comming from the ECU and goes right to neg battery post.
  But ,,, there is another one ftom the bottom of ECU to ground that must be there or nothing works.

So,  hooked er up, and rolled over afew times and went  into a nice Idle (this on lasts years fuel). 
So after adding a Gal and 1/2 af fresh gas I went for a test ride. Nice. The love is still strong.

  Now I know more about the bike.  Im glad I had another bike I could ride in the time it took to figure this out.
  Time to   ride the fertilizer out of the Ducati now.
