 [thumbsup]

I've used various makes of tire tools and this one takes the cake.  They are made from some kind of hard as shit plastic and the head is shaped to grab the tire and lock on the rim with nary a scratch or anything.

I used to have metal spoons for this, and I would be very careful and slow and these make it so I don't have to worry about scratches so I can rip a tire off a rim in minutes.

I am getting very close to doing my own tire changes from start to finish.

i have nothing to do with them but being a customer.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Ahhh. wish i knew about these yesterday. put a nice scratch on my rear rim this morning with a motion pro spoon. should have been more careful but these look like i could have been hamfisted and gotten better results. Good find.

Balancing

I thought you snagged one of those HF balancers last year when you were thinking about the tire machine. Guess I'm confusing my DMFers.

nope, wasn't me.  i may look into it, but i am not sure i trust my ability to balance a tire "the old fashioned way"

but i have to say these stubby tools really make it easy to get a tire off and on

ChrisH

Just ordered a set, and will be running down to harbor freight to pickup the old school balancer. One of these days I'd like to order a nomar tire changer.

Thanks for posting this, I'd never heard of the stubbys before.
