Luck ran out (Thanks Jeff @ Monsterparts)

Freshly sealed asphault + cold tires + handful of brakes = busted shifter + bent bars + infamous make the beast with two backsing tank dent.
7 years of good luck ran out. I was somewhat superstitious about these threads and would avoid them like the plague. Now I can chime in
Gear worked like it should. Pride took most of the blow, followed by a bruised elbow, shoulder, hip.
I guess I can now do a "Jeff at Monsterparts is DA Man" thread now too.

that makes me think of Shane Falco in "The Replacements"
"Pain heals, chicks dig scars, glory lasts forever."
in all seriousness though...you lived to tell the tale and can move on from this, and this is the most important thing!

Glad you're OK. Shit happens. Like ung said, you'll get over it and you now have a chance to work on your bike. Maybe time for some new mods.
And don't forget to tell her you're sorry.
They have feelings too.

Shit happens. The bikes are tools and toys. If they don't get a little beat up... you're not trying hard enough.
Seriously though, coulda been a lot worse!

Most important is you are OK. Some say any accident you walk away from is not a bad accident. As long as you learn something I think there is truth to that statement. Of course, there are much better ways to learn.

Rather than start another thread, figured I'd make good on what I said....
Just got all my parts needed except for the shifter which is on order. (out of stock sucks)
I was like a kid on Xmas morning when the wife said there was a box for me on the kitchen table.
Thanks Jeff...you DA MAN

Congrats on your bruised walkaway...
I'll opt for "Bike Repair"
over "Carcass Repair"
any day of the week
