In 1996 I purchased the only brand new vehicle I have ever owned. A charcoal black 1995 900 Monster.

A few months later I received a parcel which included a letter from the factory and importer welcoming me as a Ducati owner which signed by some racers. Also included was a Ducati pit crew jacket (black to match the bike color in my size provided by the dealer, Moto Italiano, in Melbourne, where I first met Brad Black) . I loved that jacket and I still have it today.
I was very impressed.

Does that kind of thing still occur? Was it a factory policy or the initiative of local dealers/importers?

I got a letter and a pin.

I think that was still old school Cagiva practice.  Might have been the importer's initiative.

I've bought 2 new ducatis.  MY 1995 and 2005.  No dice.

I got all nostalgic after reading Taftonoms' topic about being reunited with his 900SS sp.

I got that bike over 95 model Buell and Truimph Speedtriple after reading Sportrider test of the three bikes.

Glad I did, it was a life changing experience (really). It was catalyst for alot of changes.

i got a letter and a like... a little red plastic card with my bike's details on it.

that package you got sort of amazes me though... little touches like that are things i love.  sort of like when the chef sends out amuse bouche's.  always a nice touch that would keep me coming back.

Bought my (now sadly stolen and gone) '00 M900 new sometime in '05 (a leftover). Got a letter, a patch, and a couple other bits of goodness in the mail sometime after.

When Brad sees this he might remember what the deal was back then.
