VIVA LA EVOLUCION!!!

Slide Panda

Ouch... yeah. Wax is not going to cover that up.

Any notion on the back story? The 2nd F-16 ditch into the grass to avoid rear ending the taxing one?
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

B-2 crash

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Holy hell on that B-2 crash!!!   Thats's about a whole squadron of F-16s worth of scrap right there.  Looks like the crew cleared the fireball.

As for the Oshkosh crash, all I know is that the second Falcon came in too hot.  The lead bird had cleared the runway, but the pilot of the second plane may have not had complete control to take it to the end.  A vintage FJ4 Fury ran off the runway as well.

That'll annoy the crew chief.

Wow, the B2 crash was impressive. I'm no pilot (my Dad was, my brother is) but the 2nd one looked like it was pulled up way too steep and way too soon just as the wheels cleared. Then it looks like the wind was taken out of his sails (wings in this case) and he completely lost his lift. Could have used a 100lb Viagra! [laugh] That crash hurt my tax paying wallet. >:(
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Water penetrated some pitch and yaw sensors and fed wrong info to the flight computer.  Net result was the plane rolled and slowed when it shouldn't have.

Robert, did you build those models in that photobucket account?
2001 M750 - Sold
2006 S2R 800 - She's just darling

Nice work, but not mine.  Built by the fellow that shot the video.  I used to build...a lot...but gave it up a few years back.  Still have all of my tools, airbrushes, etc. (as well as several boxes of unbuilt kits) and will probably return to it someday.

I guess shit like that can happen when you tell a bunch of computers to keep a brick in the air

I live about 20 miles from Oshkosh.  The flyin is really something to see even if you aren't a pilot.  I try to take it in every couple of years.  They come out by my farm to practice aerobatics and formation flying and once in a while there will be a big dogfight with P-51's and Spits and who knows what all swirling around.  Saw Aluminum Overcast yesterday, a restored B-17 that buzzes around here frequently.  There has only been two fatalities so far this year, which is lower than average.  Had what looked like a turbo prop Mooney zip over this morning.  Must be nice!
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

Regards Forrestal disaster, Senator John McCain was in the center of that horror.  134 sailors died.

From Wikipedia:
On July 29, 1967, McCain, by then a lieutenant commander, was near the center of the Forrestal fire. He escaped from his burning jet and was trying to help another pilot escape when a bomb exploded;[27] McCain was struck in the legs and chest by fragments.[28] The ensuing fire killed 134 sailors and took 24 hours to control.
