More Stator/Battery/Altenator/Rectifier Issues

Am i right in thinking the bike will fire on 1 then die completly after about 30mins if the battery is not charging??

After the first escapade 40 miles from home  [bang]

I bought a new battery and after half an hour, just as im thinking all my troubles are over she goes flat on 1 and then dead 5 seconds later,


Im going to chrage the battery and start it up on monday any advice on what to look for in testing would be great

13.5 - 14.5 across the battery ?
1 ohm postive to earth altenator leads???? Mine has 3 leads....

1 ohm postive to earth altenator leads???? Mine has 3 leads....  The better check is voltage drop.    The only difference is your bike will crank.  Also check the connector where the three wires from the stator connect to the regulator.  Pull it apart and look for corrosion and burning.

Rectifier was FRIED EGGS.

Bought a new one £86 works fine back to 14v across the battery, I also printed off 3 copys of that flow diagram and distributed them to my mates because it was so good.
